BIG WALK FIELD NOTES

Communication / Voice chat

Keep communication inside the walk

Big Walk is designed around proximity voice and text. Both share intentional distance limits and work with in-game communication tools.

What the official guidance confirms

  • A microphone is optional: in-game text chat can be used for the whole game.
  • Outside voice chat or sitting in one room bypasses communication challenges and can make parts of the game stop making sense.
  • For mic issues, check Settings > Audio, microphone activity, device mute, hold-to-talk, and moderation silencing.
  • Echo usually means a microphone is picking up speaker output; isolate the player and use headphones where possible.

Reveal only the help you need

Open one level at a time. The first step stays intentionally light.

01Nudge 1

Check whether Microphone Activity moves when the affected player talks.

02Nudge 2

Check hardware mute, hold-to-talk, system input access, and Session Details > Moderation Settings.

03Full check

Test one player at a time, move to headphones for echo, then restart the game after changing system permissions.
