BIG WALK FIELD NOTES

Group planning / Local co-op

Is Big Walk split screen or couch co-op?

No. Big Walk has no same-screen co-op. Plan for separate devices and screens, connected through online multiplayer.

What the official guidance confirms

  • The developers recommend separate rooms and in-game communication.
  • In-game text chat is an alternative to voice chat.

One console and two controllers?

Do not plan your purchase around that setup: a second controller does not add a local split-screen player. First list the devices your group has available, then check the platform guide for each one.

Before spending money, confirm that every participant can launch their own game and has the online access their platform requires. Our price guide links to official stores rather than assuming one purchase or subscription covers an entire household.

Playing together in the same home

For a household session, our suggestion is to try the physical setup before the planned game night. Use headphones, choose separate rooms and check whether people can hear each other through a doorway. Adjust the room arrangement if ordinary conversation would give away what someone else is doing.

The useful question is not just whether two devices connect. It is whether each person experiences the communication challenge through the game. Avoid making an external group call your default setup.

If the room setup is fine but chat fails

Treat an audio problem separately from local co-op support. Check the microphone and in-game settings using the voice guide, then consult the instructions for your platform. Do not buy an extra controller as a fix for a microphone issue.
